With pride and passion we’ll be serving freshly prepared locally sourced food and hand-picked beers, wines and spirits. The Oakfield has been lovingly restored and our new garden room offers incredible views of our award winning gardens.

So, whether you are enjoying a day at the zoo or want to pop in for lunch you’ll get a warm welcome from our team.*

This is non refundable, non transferable.*** In the comfortable surroundings of The Oakfield, you shall be welcomed with freshly prepared sandwiches, freshly baked plain and currant scones, a selection of classic cakes, pastries and macaroons. This sumptuous selection shall be accompanied by the finest of teas, coffees or herbal infusions.

The food was delicious but our table hadn’t been cleaned or set-up with the right cutlery. Staff weren't clear about the closing time of the pub. Our booking was at 2pm, when we arrived they told us that the “Zoo” was closing at 3.30pm. This wasn’t really enough time for a three course meal. At 3pm we asked a staff member what time the “pub” was closing. She replied: the pub is no longer serving food but open for drinks until 10 pm that evening. To my understanding this ment that we weren’t rushed to leave as they were still open and serving drinks. At 3:33 pm a manager/staff member came over and abruptly asked us to leave. We had no objection to leaving but as paying customers it was unfair that we were told “if you’re quick” was there response when we asked to use the bathroom before we left. If someone had explained to us that we need to be out of the pub by 3.30pm we would’ve happily obliged but we didn’t appreciate being treated with such rudeness. Especially when their staff had been so incompetent.

Lovely visit, the staff were so accommodating of our big party. Food was great, service was quick and our waitress Laura was brilliant, thank you all :-)

Visited Christmas Eve. Last year we had crackers, there were none this year. We also received an email stating that you got 2 for 1 on mains during December from 14th of the month. We were told the offer was not available on Christmas Eve but the email did not stipulate this. Same re: buy 2 glasses of wine & get the bottle free. 2 for 1 was the reason for booking a table for us. Food quality was great, service was good.

We visited today, food was exceptional as was the service & welcome received. I can highly recommend the Oakfield great value for money, family friendly as a number of family groups were enjoying festive menus.
