A small 500-year-old traditional village pub owned by the Hannah family. A pub of yesteryear, it is a true little gem.

A Free House, situated in the beautiful village of Raskelf, North Yorkshire (just off the A19 north of York). The pub dates back to the 16th century with its structure boasting ships timber brought up the river Ouse from Hull.

The local cask ales are Theakston's Best, Timothy Taylor's Landlord & Hambleton brewery Stud Blonde (gluten free),

The Sunday roasts are to die for with produce locally soured, some direct by the farmers that frequent the pub.

Our beautiful seasonal changing menu includes, local steak selection, homemade pub classics, and dishes such as pork belly, Gressingham duck fillet, local lamb shank, BBQ beef short rib, lemon sole, Scottish rope grown mussels, Cornish king scallops, dressed crab salad to name a few. All prepared fresh and cooked by our amazing head chef Steve Wanless and sous chef Rachel Johnson.

    Food was delicious, well cooked & presented, only criticism vegetable portion very small. No carpark, parking the the road both sides, bit scary when a tractor was driving through.

    Unexpected 10% service charge on tab,advise to pay for your drinks as you go to avoid paying 10% on your drinks also because the 10% is on your overall bill,its a shame because its a nice pub it can become a expensive average meal.Very nice starters mains were ok,service was friendly nice atmosphere.

    We had the most enjoyable evening. The food was all very tasty and good portions. You didbt feel like you needed to order extra. The staff were amazing, very friendly and attentive and mske you feel like they really care and want uou yo have a lovely experience even though it was a very busy evening. Would recommend to anyone

    Fantastic Sunday lunch 2 adults/2 teenagers . A warm friendly welcome and service, great beer selection, fantastic sunday lunch, great quality and large portions plus really friendly staff. Great atmosphere too.
