Took over 20 mins to be asked for drinks, over twenty mins to bring them. Nearly half and hour to be asked which food we wanted.
Food finally arrived one hour 20 mins after our booking time.
We weren’t asked if food was ok, we weren’t offered further drinks.
Two people from the table left as after 2hrs they had to be else where.
We had to ask for the bill, then waited a further 20 mins to try and pay, got up out jackets on and stood at the bar trying to pay bill, to be told they were busy today, continued to then serve others when all we wanted to do was pay the bill.
It took just over two hours to order, eat and pay for 6 roast dinners.
We skipped desserts due to excessive service times.
Sadly a poor birthday lunch had for 6.

I am extremely sorry you had a poor experience, as you can see from previous reviews this is not normal at the Olive Tree. As you will have no doubt noticed we were extremely short on serving staff. Both my wife and I were ill but even then at 10:30 we had a full compliment, by 11:30 3 staff had called in sick. After a couple of hours we managed to get a new staff member in for only his 2nd shift and an ex team member who came in for a drink, also jumped in to help which was simply amazing.
Again I am extremely sorry, especially as it was a birthday. I do hope you will consider visiting us again so we can show you the normal side of The Olive Tree.
