I honestly don’t know where to begin with this nightmare of a dining experience at The Palm Court at RH San Francisco. From the moment we walked in, the whole thing was an exercise in frustration, and it only went downhill from there.
First off, the service was nothing short of abysmal. After being seated, we waited for a good 20 minutes before anyone even acknowledged our presence. When the waiter finally arrived, he was disinterested, barely making eye contact, and practically threw the menu at us. We had to flag down a different server just to get a simple glass of water. You’d think at these prices they could hire staff with basic manners.
Now, let’s talk about the food – or should I say the lack of food. I ordered the Burger, and it was a joke. The bread was stale, the meat was overcooked unrecognizable, and there was so little seasoning that it tasted like cardboard. For $28, I expected at least something vaguely edible.
My mother ordered the salad, which was just a pile of wilted lettuce drenched in a flavorless dressing. If I were a salad, I’d feel insulted by being served this pathetic mess. And don’t get me started on the presentation – it looked like it had been hastily thrown together by someone who had no interest in cooking.
The ambiance might have been the only thing that almost saved this disastrous meal, but even that was marred by the incessant noise from a screaming kid to a dog barking yes I said DOG. and the cold, impersonal decor. It felt like a high-end showroom, not a restaurant where people go to relax and enjoy a meal.
In short, The Palm Court at RH San Francisco might have the aesthetic appeal of a luxury retail space, but when it comes to food and service, it’s a total flop. Save your money and avoid the headache. There are plenty of other places in San Francisco where you can actually enjoy a meal.
