From it’s humble beginnings as a pop-up restaurant, to a farmer"s market stand and now a successful brick-and-mortar eatery, The Pig and the Lady, led by twice-nominated James Beard semifinalist Chef Andrew Le (with help from his family including his mother, Mama Le), cook up what is essentially the family meal in the truest sense -- Exposing Honolulu diners a cross-section of cuisine that has Vietnamese origins, but is eclectic and daring.Chef Le and his team have developed a modern, fresh take on traditional Southeast Asian food, utilizing local products -- serving their famous banh mi and pho, along with new favorites. Le is the one of the few chefs cooking contemporary food built on Southeast Asian flavors that has garnered rave reviews -- a foundation built on delicious memories first introduced by his mother. They are open Monday through Saturday, serving lunch and dinner. You can also still find them at the Farmer’s Markets at Blaisdell, Kailua and KCC.

    This was our first time visitng The Pig & The Lady. It is a fun place. The Asian fusion food is wonderful. The service, busy though it was, was excellent. We will indeed be back, provided we can get a reservation. Getting a reservation is challenging. There is always a long line of people waiting at the entrance.

    The Pig and the Lady consistently offers bold, tantalizing flavors with an emphasis on fresh ingredients. I encourage you to order family-style and share dishes in order to experience the full diversity of what the chef has to offer: the chicken wings, pho, banh xeo, and the griddled Vietnamese honeycomb cake with durian cream, flecked with makrut, and fresh fruit was delightful!

    We sat at the bar for 2. The food was delicious, drinks were awesome, the service was beyond great. Bonus, I am gluten free with celiac & they were able to accommodate it with ease!

    We make a point of dining here when we are in Honolulu. The dishes are remarkably creative and layered (chocolate on beets? Hell ya!). The atmosphere is like stepping into a family room full of friends. Executing the welcoming environment and dynamite food is an army of talented people and a chef who actively works his restaurant. I LOVE this place!!!!!

    Great experience. The chicken wings appetizer was great. We had the pork shoulder and epaulette. Both were amazing.

    P&L never fails to please! Had two less adventurous diners with us, and they both left singing praises about their meals. Some chefs try to combine flavors and it’s jarring. P&L consistently finds the most amazing ways to twist traditional recipes into exciting masterpieces of flavor and visual artistry. A must try .

    All of the food and the service was fantastic. It is a little pricey but if you can’t pay don’t go. Portions were great for the price couldn’t finish my food. Got the clams and the pho both were amazing to be honest might’ve been the best clams I ever had. Only complaint would be that it was loud but that’s the guests not the restaurant would definitely go back 10/10.
