A rural public house serving local beers, Berkshire gin and ciders, as well as a great wine selection. Bar snacks and full meals available 7 days a week. Cooking over a central grill makes for great theatrical cooking from our open-plan kitchen, overseen by Head Chef Nick Galer.

Whilst a subtle Basque feel will permeate throughout, its roots are firmly founded on those of a classic English pub – so while featuring top end Basque dishes fit for a destination dinner, it also offers simple pub snacks for a light lunch… while the food may be inspired by the Basque country, the ingredients are local… and while the wines may be sourced from Iberia, the beer is very much English.

The crowning glory is the sensational open kitchen, with a huge, CHARCOAL FIRED parilla grill and a BRICK OVEN as its centrepiece and all in front of the guests – very visual and very theatrical.

The Pot Kiln has been a really exciting project, and we’re thrilled to be finally open.

Really great experience. Staff knowledgeable, food high quality. Nice atmosphere. Open kitchen is nice to see, though this contributes to make it slightly noisier - all manageable, though if intimate conversation is needed, you may want to book a quiet table in the corner (though then you’s miss the kitchen view). We’d never had Basque inspired food, and it was a genuine treat.

Tapas was excellent and the cod main was fantastic this coupled with very friendly and professional service we will return very soon

The room was cold, food ok but the potatoes had crisped under the lights, the lamb slightly fatty. Beetroots were excellent as were the tapas dishes. our bill had another tables desserts added to it - so attention to detail not quite right on this occasion

Our group wanted to eat the advertised "Festive Menu" and expected to pre-order as indicated on the website - however despite trying we could not do so so we assumed (wrongly) that this was no longer a requirement. But because we had not pre-ordered the festive menu was not available which presented a choice issue for someone in the group. The table service was very good, patient and friendly apart from one occasion when the table was cleared before we had all finished eating that course. We did not find it acceptable for staff to be rearranging tables (presumably for a subsequent booking) so close to where we were sitting.

Our set Christmas meal was very good value. We enjoyed festive fare with a Spanish twist. We hope to return soon.

Wonderful dining experience. We enjoyed the Xmas meal with a delicious mix of tapas starter & traditional roast turkey main. Food was exceptionally tasty & the setting made for a perfect Xmas get together. Highly recommend.

We had a lovely company Christmas gathering. The Pot Kiln did not disappoint! From starters to puddings we had a delicious array of Tapas, we took advantage of the sharer meals - the ribeye was lovely, as was the lamb - not that I saw much of that! which goes to show how enjoyable it was. Puddings were scrumptious and the wines flowed. Thank you Pot Kiln for making our evening enjoyable - Great Food and Great people!
