Welcome to The Razor Clam!

This is the place where chefs are putting 100% into creating a unique experience using the freshest ingredients and local suppliers. At The Razor Clam you will be able to find fresh focaccia made by our chefs, ravioli with hand picked crab meat and salmon, a variety of mouth watering pasta dishes and homemade burgers, steaks, risotto and great side dishes. Give us a try and you won't be disappointed.

This is the 2nd time we have been to this restaurant. The food is fabulous and we can recommend the scallops the chicken skewers the Cornish Risotto and the Prawn and Salmon linguine. Generous portion sizes and good prices very friendly staff.

A bit disappointed with the food. The French soup didn't have any cheese in it. The lamb shoulder was very dry and tough and without taste and pork belly was also just ok.

Had a really enjoyable meal with my family of 5, food was amazing and staff was very friendly, highly recommend and we will definitely be back for sure.

Excellent food and service. We were a table of 12, everyone got their food at the same time, it was fresh and hot. Would not hesitate to recommend The Razor Clam.

This is the third visit to Razor Clam and we weren’t disappointed. Everything about our experience was outstanding the food outstanding. We live near and have been to this restaurant more than any other. Excellent value for money so wish I could have the monkfish curry every day!!

We were booked in for 7pm. Lovely greeting on arrival and checked in efficiently and shown to our table. There were 3 other tables already seated; however another 5 bookings arrived immediately after us. There was only 1 waitress in evidence, who clearly couldn’t cope. It took over 20 minutes for a drink to arrive. Food ordered and 20 minutes later starters arrived. The food was really good and good sized portions. The air conditioning was blowing cold air which made me the ambiance a little uncomfortable. Overall as the food was good and the one waitress was working flat out we were happy with our experience. Lessons to learn would be management need to be more involved with front of house and space out the bookings more when you’re light on staff!

The restaurant at 6:30pm was empty except for me and one other person. But it is Jan, so it’s understandable, I guess. The waitress didn’t know if the duck pate was house made (it was). I ordered 3 starters: the smoked haddock chowder, garlic prawns and duck pate. All 3 were brought at the same time, forcing me to go back and forth between each dish for fear of the soup or prawns going cold. Absolutely beautiful presentation so I was excited to dive in. All 3 dishes were woefully underseasoned. I’m not a big salt user but I had to add quite a bit to each dish. The duck flavour was almost non-existent - way too much orange. The prawns had been semi-butterflied, so why weren’t they de-veined? And while they were pink, the texture of them was raw. The soup, while packed with fish and veg and lovely things, suffered in taste. I’ve not been to a restaurant where the visual of the dishes far outweighed the taste. What a shame.
