The Red Door San Diego is committed to offering our guests sustainable and responsibly sourced farm-to-fork dishes. We proudly serve contemporary Italian and modern European cuisine with the freshest locally grown and handcrafted products available. We also feature delicious and unique ingredients from around the world. Chef/Owner Luciano Cibelli shops daily, personally selecting every item we serve. He bakes fresh breads, rolls, desserts and all of the pasta in house (including a special Gluten Free Bucatini) and he develops his menus in rhythm with the seasonal San Diego harvest. I love this restaurant. The food is delicious and the service fantastic. Great atmosphere in both the ‘jazz cafe’ and normal restaurant section. I take all my friends here.

I ordered the beef wellington. It was the reason I went to The Red Door. The waiter warned me that they have trouble consistently cooking the wellington properly. I thought that was weird, but I gave it a chance anyway. Half of my filet was cooked perfectly. The other half was undercooked. Most of the pastry was undercooked.

What an amazing experience! The food was absolutely incredible, our server Nova was fantastic the whole night and the ambience was awesome. We could not recommend this place any more highly. This is a must go if you are a local in San Diego or just visiting! Beef wellington was delicious, the seabass risotto was possibly the best dish we have ever had.

The customer service was outstanding. The chef came to our table twice to check on the food. Everything was delicious, especially the Mac and cheese appetizer. The vegetables were well seasoned and cooked perfectly. It is a small neighborhood restaurant that was very comfortable.

The food was good, but service was just okay. We were a group of two among two other larger groups, so it was loud and we were the last taken care of. They push you right out at 9:00, too. I remember the food being better last time, but it was fine this time. It’s loud in there when it’s busy.

This was our first visit to The Red Door and we’ll definitely go back. Between the owner/chef coming out to greet us to the amazing food, it was an experience to remember and repeat.
