Incredibly poor experience, we will not return here again. The restaurant is well decorated and laid out but completely let down by poor management. The assistant manager is the most significant problem, he was tending our table in a manner of speaking when he wasn’t wondering around aimlessly, checking his phone and chatting with back of house staff. Seemed indifferent to the customers needs and was very rude to a table of four next to us when they had a problem with their drink. All he had to do was say sorry and replace it instead he attempted to argue back and simply remove cost from bill. Asked him twice for the bill in a 30 minute period and then had to approach him to pay as he was too busy chit chatting with other back of house staff. Felt sorry for other waiting staff as they seemed to be doing a great job with other customers and working hard. The manager only had our two tables and could seem to care less. His excuse was he was busy....all I saw was wondering, texting on his phone and generally not interacting with customers. The owner needs to resolve, that as we and the other table will not be recommending.

Excellent service and food. Very relaxed and we booked again for December. Open Table need to amend the address though as the pub is in Ashington not Pulborough and is in West Sussex not Kent. It's confusing putting Pulborough as that is a completely different place. Thank you

We enjoyed the meal but it would have been much better if everyone was served at the same time. Service was laid back to say the least but the staff are very pleasant. The deserts are definitely not as good as the starter and mains!
