The Restaurant at Albert just misses the mark.
Drinks- mostly wine menu which makes sense because it is Fredericksburg. Zero mocktails on the menu.
Food- very puzzled by the 4 and 5 star reviews. We were brought a complementary amuse-bouche, nice gesture but most people at our table did not finish it. It was a cold potato ball stuffed with chicken liver mousse. Liver is a pretty polarizing food so we thought this was a strange choice. Very limited menu which makes you think, cool, everything is going to be very seasonal and tasty. Our table ordered several of the $60 Wagyu steaks, cooked medium-rare, and had to saw at the meat to cut it. Wagyu should melt in your mouth and we felt like this dish was falsely advertised. On the side were approximately 3 unseasoned Brussels sprouts per plate. One person in our party had a string attached to her steak.
Service- very friendly but seemed a bit chaotic. Entrees came out before silverware, drink mix-ups, and entrees described only after we had already ordered them. The restaurant did make up for the overly chewy and flavorless steaks which we appreciated.
Vibes- semi cute but something missing. Like others have commented you are in the hotel lobby. The low ceiling and lack of artwork are not a match for the vibe the restaurant seems to be trying to curate
Overall a disappointing experience, and our night ended at a nearby pizza place because we left hungry. It seems like this restaurant would do better if they leaned into being a hotel lobby restaurant and served gourmet burgers, seasonal salads, and other easier fare instead of selling overpriced food that is trying to be fancy.
