    Decided to give the Mansion another try after several years and despite the unique ambience they possess, the food is not really quite up to par. The Porterhouse steak for two despite being medium rare tasted a little dry and the desserts were a disaster. The crème brûlée was ice cold and the chocolate mousse was very hard and not fluffy and soft like it should be. The chef really needs to take it up a notch to fulfill the expectations of the high-end diner.

    We had a bad experience celebrating our twelfth anniversary. The managers were very apologetic and hoped we’d give them another chance - comped our food that we’d barely touched. Our food was far from “elevated,” and it’s hard to think about returning considering our experience. The server directed most of his eye contact and speech to my husband, and overall, no matter where you go, that needs to stop. For a place that has high marks for service, we did not have the same attentiveness. I’m thankful for the managers that spoke to us, and it felt sincere, but what a massive letdown for our celebration. Unfortunately, I do not think I could be convinced to return.

    The dining experience was wonderful. Having cocktails in the cozy bar before dinner was great service. Then dining was the best service and food.

    The food was good, but not the best I’ve ever had. The mushroom side dish was extremely salty to the point we couldn’t eat it. The cocktails were extremely good, and probably the best I had all weekend.

    Honestly, for all the reviews and explanations regarding this restaurant on the Web, I would say it was a real letdown. This was a treat from me to my friends who invited me to visit them in Dallas. I chose it for its 5 star rating, food and ambiance. All were a disappointment except the service. With all the other restaurants in the Uptown area, we could have done much better with a different choice. A thumbs down on this place! $112.00 for a starter, two entrees, one dessert and an iced tea. No cocktails!!!!!
