While a beautiful modern venue, unfortunately, the advertised and booked Countylicious lunch special was “not being offered” we were told as seated. This was disappointing as the reason for our selection for a special birthday. We changed course and stayed for the brunch making the best of the situation. Food was quite good but not top shelf as expected for The Royal (salad, pizza, omelette & beverages) and our server didn’t check in to see if we needed anything. She did kindly arrange a complimentary cake which was appreciated and enjoyed.

Music was way too loud, more like you would expect for a bar, not a fine dining establishment. Also the selection of music was far from appropriate for that style of restaurant. We have been to the Royal Hotel for dinner many times and if that is the new environment we will not be back as there is so many great restaurants in Picton now! Don Hopkins

Great food, fast friendly service. A few things need cleaning better ... sugar container was stained with coffee, mirrors in dining room smudged and dotted with stains. Overall very good and we'll be back.
