Had NYE dinner. We had reservations luckily. Restaurant was packed. Our waitress was very attentive. All our meals were perfectly prepared except my husbands Zuppa de pesce came out dry with hardly any sauce. Once we got attention of waitress she brought back to kitchen and had it fixed. Few negative parts of evening were bringing out 3 appetizers and then waiting 10 minutes for 4th persons to be brought out and same with dinner. I had to wait at least 10 minutes for my dinner and meanwhile rest of tables dinner was getting cold. I asked for another glass of wine and unfortunately it wasn’t served until my meal was almost finished. All our meals were wonderful. The Smashed Olive was the perfect place to celebrate a birthday and enjoy a great meal. Our server was excellent and beyond helpful. The food was delicious. We had a variety of food from the bison burger to seafood risotto. Grandma's pizza was so good! It’s big enough to share. One of the best restaurants in NJ. Food is terrific every time we go and the service is always excellent. It was a very, very busy Christmas Eve dinner. We had a reservation, so there was almost no weight for a table. The service was great. All of the staff were friendly and welcoming, even on Christmas Eve. Everyone at our table loved their dinner. The appetizer was also fantastic. I highly recommend the homemade gnocchi. Got prior to reservation to get a drink, bar service Was very poor. Didn’t get attended to for at least 10 minutes. Then had reservation for dinner and was not attended for at least 20 minutes of the dinner reservation at which point we left because the priority to service was lacking.
