The Smith is a casual American brasserie with four upbeat locations in New York City: The Smith East Village, The Smith Midtown, The Smith Lincoln Square, and The Smith NoMad, as well as locations in DC and Chicago. We care about every meal and every moment. The menu features bistro classics, seasonal fare, and craft cocktails. Walk in the door and you’re in for a great time. Great friendly service...People i dined with had everything from a hamburger to chicken malainaise. Food quality was great. Nice cocktails and the service was very quick. No long waits for appetizers , drinks or your meal

Not a great experience. Extremely loud. Wrong food items delivered and the food quality was comparable to a chain restaurant but more expensive. Comp app for long wait time to be seated was charged on the check. The servers were super nice, but I wouldn’t return.

The service was good but in the middle of our meal a different server kept coming to our table and pushing us. I felt like I was being rushed.

Excellent filet with blue cheese crust. Jalapeño cheddar grits were also very good though not much impact from the jalapeño. Not a large selection of wine by the glass. Could use an oaked Chardonnay. Cocktail was also great.

Tiniest portions! And not just for US standards. If you’re going to charge $17 for a salad it should come with more than just greens, sauce and cheese in a soup bowl.
