The Stables is Missoula's newest cocktail and wine bar/restaurant. The Stables offers over 100 wine options, a full bar, craft beer, and beautifully curated classic inspired cuisine from our Executive Chef, Jarrod Somaoang and Chef de Cuisine, Michael Kelly.

                                      I’m an “on the fence about duck” person. I took the servers recommendation and ordered the duck. It was exceptional! I highly recommend!!!

                                      This is not our first time there and it is now our go-to when we come to Missoula. Outstanding drinks and food. The service is great. Our waitress, I think her name was Shae was on top of everything. Our friends had not eaten there before and they were impressed. They’ll be back as well

                                      Overall dining at The Stables was pleasant. We were first to arrive for dinner service. We were offered the back table, by the bathrooms and kitchen. I passed on that and found a better table up front. The ambience was splendid. Seating is based on rectangle tables, perfect for larger parties. However smaller groups may get shoved in a corner or lost in the mix. Blue Cheese Cheesecake was nice. I’d prefer it “more blue”, topped with honey drizzle and berry compote??? Lovely presentation and creamy mild taste. Rich but not overwhelming. Scallops were delicious and perfectly seared. Lamb was flavorful. The polenta cake was just that. I’d love something on top and beside it specifically to elevate the simple nature of polenta. Overall, my experience was pleasant. Next visit, I will try the Duck or the Hen!

                                      Duck confit was perfect. Very heavy hand with salt on the pomme frites. I couldn’t even wipe off the excess salt with my napkin. It affected the rest of the dish. Brussels sprouts were perfect; just a bit much salt. Fantastic wine list. Even better service.
