Leonard Wilfred Davies, born 19 December 1906, started a butcher's dynasty now four generations old. His butchers typical cheeky sense of humour now lives on through his grandchildren along with his knowledge of butchery.

In 1997 Leonard’s grandson Richard opened The Station Inn, which quickly generated a great reputation for quality steak. With Richard’s son, Ben’s passion and expertise as Head Chef and Butcher, The Station’s dining experience is a true reflection of the families deep passion for serving amazing steak.

20 years on from opening The Station a major upgrade has taken place, which at its core aims to celebrate the families heritage and knowledge of meat. In order to identify your exact preferences the chefs help you choose the best cut of beef to cook for dinner. It makes for an unforgettable ‘butchery and dining’ experience.

                        An excellent late Sunday lunch was very enjoyable with a wide ranging food selection at sensible prices. The station was very busy late afternoon and I think this slightly affected the service and the ambience but still 9/10 and will not put us off future visits. The meat on the menu is always top quality and the remainder is not far behind - would recommend anyone to give the Station a go if they are in the area

                        Ambience good. Kept informed about our order. Staff very friendly. I had a a Rib eye steak. The best steak I have in many years. Every mouthful was delicious. My wife had pork, which was equally delicious. Very ‘high end’ ingredients cooked and presented well. Enjoyed it that much, we’ve booked again for Monday, next week. Thank you to all concerned, at The Station.

                        Lovely carvery meat and excellent vegetables to go with and yummy crackling Customer service was excellent! Unfortunately we had a loud gentleman at the next table that meant chatting was difficult but the quality of the meal made it worth it for our visitors

                        Had very high expectations after being recommended the station inn, and they not only met but exceeded them! The best steaks we’ve had in a long time and a lovely selection of wines to accompany them. The atmosphere was lovely and staff fantastic! Can’t wait to return!
