Leonard Wilfred Davies, born 19 December 1906, started a butcher's dynasty now four generations old. His butchers typical cheeky sense of humour now lives on through his grandchildren along with his knowledge of butchery.

In 1997 Leonard’s grandson Richard opened The Station Inn, which quickly generated a great reputation for quality steak. With Richard’s son, Ben’s passion and expertise as Head Chef and Butcher, The Station’s dining experience is a true reflection of the families deep passion for serving amazing steak.

20 years on from opening The Station a major upgrade has taken place, which at its core aims to celebrate the families heritage and knowledge of meat. In order to identify your exact preferences the chefs help you choose the best cut of beef to cook for dinner. It makes for an unforgettable ‘butchery and dining’ experience.

                        Lovely carvery meat and excellent vegetables to go with and yummy crackling Customer service was excellent! Unfortunately we had a loud gentleman at the next table that meant chatting was difficult but the quality of the meal made it worth it for our visitors

                        Had very high expectations after being recommended the station inn, and they not only met but exceeded them! The best steaks we’ve had in a long time and a lovely selection of wines to accompany them. The atmosphere was lovely and staff fantastic! Can’t wait to return!

                        Took some visitors to the butchers night - they were amazed both by the idea of eating your own choice/cut of meat and by the price. Very attentive staff, good service and food cooked exactly as requested - an absolute treat - thank you.

                        What a great pub with the butcher ready to advise and then cut your steak for you. You choose the size and pay by weight, we went from 200g filet to 500g Sirloin! There also a pork option as well as all the usual nine steak meals you would expect in a pub. The price was a little higher than other pubs, but not by much ch and the quality and experience made it a fantastic night out

                        Simple great quality food, cooked really well. Best pie I've tasted for a long time with real home cooked chips. Interesting restaurant with the backdrop of a butchers.
