The Sur House, at Ventana Big Sur, serves cuisine in an awe-inspiring setting. The restaurant’s warm, rustic interior opens onto its legendary terrace where panoramic views of the ocean and rugged Big Sur coastline stretch for more than 50 miles. The cuisine makes use of the abundance of California’s Central Coast with local, simple, sustainable ingredients, including items from Ventana’s own organic garden.

Breakfast | 18+ years
Lunch | All ages welcome
Dinner | 18+ years

Non-Resort Guests can enjoy a pre-fixed, 3-course menu for $125/per person. A la carte menu is also available at this location for dinner service.

We welcome dogs on the outside terraces at the Sur House patio during breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Only certified service animals (dogs) are allowed inside The Sur House for dining.

A 22% Service charge will be added to all checks.

    Tiny, appetizer size entrees with absolutely no sides. Very, very overpriced for the quality and quantity of food. I am not a big eater, and nearly always skip dessert because I am more than full after a typical entree, but the portion sizes were so small they were reminiscent of the sizes you would get at an eight or ten course meal. Mandatory 22% service charge after such an anemic meal left me feeling ripped off. No joke, we went immediately to In-N-Out afterwards! Never again.

    Beautiful location, interior and decor. Cozy fireplace, excellent drinks, amazing appetizers. The mains weren’t as good as the apps, but still yummy. Service was perfect. Very memorable Big Sur experience though pricey.

    Chips/guacamole, tuna melt & chicken sandwich all great, but tacos WAY overpriced with no warning & shells were soaked through. Otherwise, it was great. But my wife’s meal was a real disappointment.

    Jaw dropping experience, couldn't say enough good things about the Sur House, the staff was absolutely amazing and made us feel like superstars, the view is breathtaking, highly recommend sitting outside for the view of the pacific is endless. food was good, had the tuna melt and the burger, both were cooked well. the drinks were delicious and ended the date with some espresso martini's that hit the spot. If you go to Big Sur you NEED to go to the Sur House!

    Amazing views! They are pet friendly during lunch. Staff is very attentive and nice. The food was amazing. I loved every moment of it

    Our server Jessica was very pleasant and we enjoyed talking with her. Rodrigo was also very pleasant. We are locals and it was our first visit. It was my husband’s birthday and the complimentary dessert was very much appreciated. We will be back again for sure! Thank you, Kristin Oleksy
