The Sword Inn Hand is a 14th Century Free House with guest rooms nestled in the beautiful rural Hertfordshire village of Westmill, a mile south of the market town of Buntingford. With bar, dining room, mature landscaped gardens and charming country inspired guest rooms, it is the perfect countryside retreat for drinking, dining and relaxing. Seasonal produce is delivered to us daily by our fantastic local suppliers, and we pride ourselves on serving delicious fine food and traditional ales. Our friendly yet professional customer service and warm, relaxing atmosphere inspires our lovely customers to return week after week, and welcomes new visitors from far and wide. Owner, Jeremy Lee and his fantastic team look forward to making your visit a special one to remember.

    Excellent friendly service. I had the roast beef and my partner had roast pork . Both were excellent. The sticky toffee pudding was also really good . We will visit again .

    We had a lovely meal, the whole experience was very nice and just what we remembered from our last visit. Food was amazing, each meal was delicious.

    What a brilliant find! Looking for somewhere 'half way' to meet up with family. The staff were so friendly and helpful, the food choices (which we established are all made on the premises) were great, with the possibility to change portion sizes, etc, to suit taste and appetite. The chicken pie was amazing! We sat near the log burner, which was attended to all afternoon so we were nice & toasty on a bitter cold day! Large car park and we could see a large garden and play area for children. Loved it, great pub, we will be back.

    Great service, amazing food and wonderful hospitality in this great pub, wish they were more local to me. Will definitely be back again soon.

    We had the most fabulous meal, we're not rushed and looked after by enthusiastic staff. A great meal and will be going back soon.

    Always top drawer, the perfect place to eat, drink and have a great time. Christmas Eve was buzzing, thanks to all the staff at The Sword Inn Hand for making Christmas Eve such a great start to our festivities 🎅x

    Amazing all together. Food is the best to find outside of London. Staff is warm and welcoming. A really good place to go for both just a drink and food.
