    Lovely atmosphere , nicely decorated for holidays and also appreciate the Penn State history on the walls . Menu offers nice choices, but food quality rather inconsistent, especially given the $20-30 + price for entree . We do enjoy having drinks in the Adam’s Apple bar and out on the upstairs porch ( in warmer weather) - offers a nice view of College Ave . Go for the ambience, but food still lacking ….

    We had our friend’s Christmas dinner gathering. Elias was our server and he was great. Nice, patient and helpful with decisions. He accommodated my request for whipped ricotta with the Charcuterie. All of our meals were delicious. I had the Pork Osso Buco and it was amazing. Some of the meals were very small portions, especially for the cost. The Nittany Lion Tail cocktail was a perfectly balanced drink.

    The Tavern met our expectations for a special occasion. The ambiance was great and the food was excellent. Wait service was impeccable adding to the overall experience. Do not hesitate to try this establishment you will not be doing.

    Not what I expected. Service was efficient and friendly, my Manhattan cocktail was excellent, then started with the ceasar salad that was dumped on a plate and tasted like it came from an airport. Pasta with clams was ok but would not order it again, no passion in the preparation or presentation. This place has all the potential to be great, but missing the magic. A mediocre experience at best.

    Super food salad is literally a delicious and healthy dish. Add the salmon and it’s even better! Lunch time may be our new favorite time to visit The Tavern. Wait staff is more relaxed and personable and you can relax and take in all the uniqueness of this landmark establishment.

    First visit post remodel. Food and service as always was fantastic; we lived the refreshed look which also maintains the historical charm of the Tavern. Especially loved the remake of the Adam’s Apple bar! Can’t wait to go back.

    Celebrating an early Thanksgiving at this Penn state icon! Excellent steak salad, crab appetizer, and bolognese pasta! The only downside was the carrot cake… dry dry dry.

    The prime rib was extremely over salted to a point of I couldn’t eat it. The waiter saw my difficulty and asked if I would like something else. I didn’t want anything else and they graciously removed it from the bill. Serves excu,

    Nice place for dinner. Went mid week so the place was quiet. Service was excellent-Adam had good energy, and the right amount of attention. Food was good as were the desserts. Would visit again.
