This was my second visit to The Well. The first time was at the W. 2nd location in downtown Austin, and the second was at the Westlake location. Both are wonderful havens for diners with food allergies. Because I am Celiac, the Gluten-Free menu offers a sanctuary of "no-worry" GF ordering. The food is outstanding; in particular, the Ceviche at the Downtown restaurant and the Salmon Crudo at the Westlake restaurant were beyond delicious, fresh and perfectly seasoned. I did notice the Westlake Chef is more heavy handed with dressing the pasta pesto. The Chef at the W. 2nd location has a more deft hand with the pesto, applying a lighter and more unctuous rendition of the sauce, which included a slight citrus addition, while the Westlake version is thickly coated and harder in texture, providing more of a heavy one-note flavor without any added freshness to cut the richness. Still, overall, The Well has become one of my favorite Go-To GF restaurants in the Austin area.
