   Oysters were subpar and sent back. While the staff were gracious and went out of their way to make up for it, it seemed throw off timing with kitchen and staff. Wine glasses sat empty, 2 courses arrived at the same time, without the pairings, a forgotten palate cleanser, covered up with a lie about when it was supposed to come out on the set YYXexp menu. We both have experience in the industry and have a high standard that just wasn't met. The room and ambience is great and some of the dishes were absolutely remarkable. Just an off night I suppose. We will give them another chance.

   From beginning to end, our experience was fantastic! We were greeted by a male host who happily took our jackets to the coat check. He proceeded to guide us to our table, and offered a purse hook for my bag. The attention to detail was already impressive. We were then introduced to our waitress who was both informative and a perfect representative of the restaurant - she made excellent recommendations, times her inquires about our meal and additional drinks perfectly and was an overall was an excellent server. Our meal and cocktails were equally amazing - we did the yyc experience and all courses from the Amuse bouche to the dessert were exquisite. We will be back. Thanks again

   This is the second time I have been here and this time, it was not remotely close to how it went the first time. My date and I had an early dinner scheduled (4:45PM, we got there at 4:50PM or so) as we had to attend the theatre that night and I mentioned this to the server that we had to leave by a certain time. We got a table out in the balcony as it was nice out and they had the heater on, so we were good out there. Then the rest of the night pretty much did not go well. First, the service was quite slow and there wasn't even that many people there yet. We ordered the scallops to share as a starter. The server suggested to get an additional to make it 4, so I said sure. In hindsight, I should have asked how much it would be. I was charged $16 for ONE extra scallop when the entire dish for 3 (original number) would be $36. That was my fault for not asking. The water was rarely topped up and everything was just slow. We ordered the duck and the salmon as our mains and when they came out, they bought out the duck and sablefish?!? I asked for them to correct the order and to bring my duck back into the kitchen and we were told it would be about 5m. It was closer to 10m. Which in turn of course made my duck slightly over cooked now and a little drier than it should be. With the delay and how long things were taking, we decided not to have dessert and my date just got a macchiato expresso instead and we said no to dessert as now we don't have time and the server took another 6-8m to bring the bill out. This got worst as they seemed to have bought out a defective machine as it declined (not failed) my card about 4-5 times. After doing the exact same thing, it finally cleared. And yes, my card was fine, since I used it several times later at the theatre. It was embarrassing in front of my date. I cannot recommend this place right now as I saw someone else had commented on the poor service and how slow things are as well.

   food took too long to come out, and the service was not up to par with the quality you are paying for. Very disappointed.

   We decided to partake in the YYC Food experience since we did last year and loved it. This time around the service from our waitress and the dessert was the only thing worth mentioning. The first course was okay, but could have been cooked more. Entrees weren’t anything special to rave about. The ambience was horrible. While restaurants cannot control their guests, it was so loud I could barely hear what my partner was saying. At one point we sat in silence because we felt like we were in competition with the loud obnoxious patrons. If I am going out to such an expensive restaurant to partake I would at least like to enjoy the time I spend especially since the time we waited between each course was sooo long!

   Took my fiance there for his birthday and had the Chef’s menu with wine pairing. The experience was very romantic and lovely. Every bit of the food was delicious. Highly recommend

   Was a massive disappointment. While it could have e great views, most people are forced to stare at a wall. There are only a couple truly great tables. Out reservation was at 7on. Saturdaynight. We ordered our starters and wine quickly enough. And the starters arrived in short order and were very good. Our entrees were a different story. Around 8 pm the server began apologizing for not having our mains out yet. At 8:20 our fish and steak were put on the table. The fish was quite well prepared, but the steak was inedible. The server apologized again and explained the chef took the night off. However he was there to watch how the staff did without him. Not sure how he felt, but we will never recommend this restaurant to anyone. In the end, they didn't charge for the steak.

   Special shout out to Cloud in food and beverage department for saving me from my reservation issue. We truly enjoyed our dinner at The Wilde. Nice change from the typical YYC family style dining. It was nice to enjoy my own plate and the amazing presentation.

    We went to Wilde on 27 for a birthday dinner. The view of downtown Calgary added to the ambience. Denise and Addison provided excellent service. The food was outstanding. We were never rushed and thoroughly enjoyed our experience there. Well done!
