The Woodmans Arms is a beautiful ‘country feel’ pub and dining room situated within the village of Whickham, at the top of the hill, hidden amongst rows of spectacular trees. We are more than just a venue, we are a destination worth travelling to serving classic comforting food made with love, served in cosy surroundings overlooking the most amazing views of the North East.

We are the proud winner of the Newcastle Chronicle’s Eddy Eats’ pub of the year for character, quality, service and value. UK top 3 in the Seafish National Fish and Chip awards 2019 and Diners’ choice award for best ambience. Best British Pub Pie winner for 2020.

We support our local farmers, and work closely with a number of local suppliers to ensure the very best fresh produce. All our food is cooked freshly to order so whether it be a bar snack, light bite, leisurely lunch, evening meal or Sunday Roast it is safe to say that you will in safe hands.

Fabulous tasting meat, gravy. However the meal was cold soon as it came to the table both my wife and I and I felt the Yorkshire pudding which was cold, the gravy was cold the only thing warm was the roast potatoes but not hot, we do not like red hot food, but definitely hot. So a disappointment indeed.

New favourite place. Been wanting to go here for a while now as I have never been and had heard good things. Really liked it,food was lovely and will definitely be back again. Only thing that let it down slightly was the service was a bit slow but nothing horrendous and when I ordered food I wasn't asked if there was any food allergies or any food allergy menus provided ,though I did inform my waitress .

Nice food , great service , depending when you go the car park can become very busy . Overall would recommend 👍

Quick service even though very busy. Had a wait for dessert and then double order came, not sure why. Other than that couldn't fault our Sunday lunch.
