THE WOODSMAN IS A TRULY BRITISH RESTAURANT
We use the best British ingredients, all sourced as sustainably as possible.

We love using Wild food, and harvest much of it ourselves. All the meat on our menus is “nose to tail” so the menu is ever changing, and we waste nothing. We even employ our own head ranger to keep the deer herds on the land we manage under control, and have our own deer larder in the Cotswolds where this amazing product is processed.

Our fish comes from day boats in Cornwall.

We work with the seasons, ensuring the very best truly local veg is with us the day after its picked. Our food is cooked over wood from local plantations, and charcoal coppiced less than 20 miles away.

We know the story of everything on the menu.

Our lovely staff are extremely well informed, so, do ask questions on anything you’re not sure of.

    Our tasting menu highlights the finest local ingredients and the chef's culinary expertise, presented through an 8-course experience. £85 per person, £55 per person to add on the wine flight. Payable on the evening. Please note that our tasting menu is a set menu and cannot be adapted to be pescatarian, vegetarian, or vegan. For allergies please contact us prior to booking the tasting menu.

    Great experience and amazing food. Always see this restaurant on my social media so wanted to try it out. We booked in the day for Sunday dinner and I have to say the staff were so lovely. And, the food was out of this world. This is now our favourite place in Stratford in Avon and we will be visiting again very soon.

    Thank you so much for your lovely service. hank you for the lovely table by the window and also having the perfect ambience for a Sunday Roast - which left us feeling very very well fed!

    Delicious meal in beautiful settings right up and close to the kitchen! Staff couldn’t have been more helpful and even brought my husband a little sweet treat at the end of the meal on account of it being his birthday.

    We wanted to do the tasting menu but as my wife is a pescatarian we were told the whole table had to have the same menu or order from the standard offering. More fool the restaurant as we would have spent £100 more if we had been on the tasting option. A real shame they wouldn’t accommodate us. Be aware if you come in a group you all have to order the same thing if you want the tasting menu. Apart from that the food was fantastic, service was ok (took 20 minutes to take our drinks order). I have been here numerous times and would go again, they’re just not remotely flexible if you have dietary requirements so bear that in mind

    One of our favourite restaurants in Stratford upon Avon. Visited on a Sunday and even though the menu is limited the food and atmosphere are reliably wonderful.

    Wonderful Sunday lunch today. Wish I had booked last night too. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. The staff were all very amenable and efficient. All of them were excellent which is a good sign. Very pleasant atmosphere.
