The C-TRAIN platform is ideally situated adjacent to Hyatt Regency Calgary, where Thomsons Kitchen & Bar is located. You can travel for only $3.50 per trip. The Downtown C-TRAIN transportation is a free fare zone. Taxis are also available 24 hours a day in front of the hotel.

Fantastic food. The beef short ribs were outstanding. Great waitress too. The Black Forest cheesecake was delicious! Highly recommend.

Saturday night (place was not busy) Sat down with my son, said I was waiting for my wife and daughter, no drink offered, just came over and poured water. I ordered for my family, still no drink offered and I figured to wait to see if he did and nothing through out the meal. Food was pretty good, but overpriced for what you get. On the Sunday they have a brunch from 10-2 and $45 per person….again, place was dead and you could not get a menu for quick drink and appetizer. From the event that was going on in the hotel…. Easily 50 people went somewhere else because they didn’t want the brunch, just something off the menu. Been coming to the hotel many years, talked to managers and still an empty restaurant sits due to bad management decisions. Won’t be going back restaurant as there’s way too many to choose from in the area right out the door like milestone, saltlik.

We had brunch here on a Sunday, the bar side of the restaurant has really nice decor. The food was wonderful! Eggs benedict and omelettes. The service was perfect. We would come back here again.

Though there was a set menu for theatre goers, we enjoyed sharing from the appetizer menu. Tuna, beef and salad along with he house white wine was perfect before going to Theatre Calgary.

Always enjoy going to Thompsons Kitchen and Bar. However the food yesterday was below what I usually experience. The service was great and I meet a friend there for lunch and a visit and we always enjoy our visit uninterrupted.

I'm not sure how to say it...It was pretty awful. Food was hot, presentation was decent. Waitress was polite, but never checked in on how our meal was. We had the before Theatre dinner, fixed menu. Our salad featured falafel balls, I'm certain had been cooked earlier in the day, and refried for us. They were warm, crispy and very greasy. I would not have put them with the salad. Main course was Chicken Schnitzel, came out hot and crisp, zero flavor. Horseradish sauce served with them, strange choice. The coating and the chicken had zero seasoning/flavor; large, expensive chicken fingers... A&W next door does those better. I chose the premium wine pairing with it, and extra $10. Not worth it; it needed to have decanted or breathed before being served. We mentioned the lack of flavor to the manager (I assume she was); and actually asked for plumb sauce for our chicken fingers...no offer other than to remake our dinner; which was half consumed. Dessert was cheese cake, hard to mess up. It was consumed, but we were pretty turned off by now. Dinner came out quick, and got us out in time for our 7PM show. This feeds my theory (which I should have stuck to); don't eat at hotel restaurants...
