Tick Tock Diner, an iconic symbol of the American diner with locations in both Midtown Manhattan and Clifton, New Jersey, has mastered the art of casual dining, providing customers with high quality ingredients, generous portions at a reasonable price and a comfortable, family-friendly atmosphere that keeps them coming back year after year.
The 280 seat Midtown Manhattan location opened in 1997 at 481 8th Avenue (corner of 34th Street), across the street from Penn Station. Tick Tock Diner has long been known for its American comfort food. Today, it remains true to tradition while offering more dining choices than ever before on its extensive menu, accented with Italian, Greek and Tex-Mex influences. Keeping in the diner tradition, breakfast is served all day, featuring more than a dozen omelets, farm fresh eggs any style, pancakes, Belgian waffles and French toast.

Tick Tick Diner offers a variety of good food at a variety of prices. Service is excellent and the waiter was attentive and prompt in serving our food. A good bargain!

We had a reservation.... which they didn't seem to care about..... menu lacking adequate options for breakfast. We sat for 15-20 minutes..... nobody even took a drink order. Disgusted, we left before ordering.

Family friendly, lots to choose from and fast service. My granddaughter ordered Nutella pancakes and loved them, husband ordered chicken and waffles and their fried chicken tastes great, I was going to get shrimp and avocado salad and was persuaded by waiter to get appetizer shrimp ( they were not good)

Incredible the food portions were huge especially for the kids but the staff gave us a take away tub so they could take their left overs with us Food tastes amazing and the staff were really helpful!!

Visited here with family on Christmas day after seeing a movie across the street. We had reservations but arrived earlier than anticipated. Were seated near the entrance in the booth. I don't recommend that table at all during the winter unless you don't mind a frigid draft blowing over you and your food while you dine. My mother and brother, who were among us, came the day before and were fine with the menu and what they ordered. According to my mother the menu changed and to the rest of us, none of us were impressed. So much so it took us a while to decide to order something. Long story short, of the 6 of us, 2 were Ok with what they ordered. The rest of us either ate half the food or more than, but as is our custom, did not bother to take the remaining home. It was assumed that the cook/chef was tired or didn't care. The waitress we had disappeared after we received our order and only returned when the check was already paid. We had to flag down another server for the check. I get that this is a Diner, but for the location, the level of service and the (lack of) quality of the food left us regretting this convenient choice. I have had better at less expensive Diners.... I should have eaten at the movie theater.
