    I would suggest avoiding the salads-- it seemed that maybe not many people order them because the components were old and they were not particularly good.

    The setting is spectacular and Lodge is a Nebraska gem. The food was very good but service did not match the setting or food quality. Took 15 minutes to get our drink order filled and it was just beer and wine. The french fries were said to be gluten friendly, but came completely breaded so education for the serving staff is needed on what gluten is. Long wait time for the final bill, but the server was very friendly.

    This was the perfect venue for my husband and I to have a relaxing Christmas Eve dinner (the day before an energetic Christmas Day filled with family!). New tradition with our children going to the other sides on Christmas Eve.

    We love the ambience of Lied Lodge and have had many wonderful meals at Timbers. During this visit, we were plagued by extremely slow service (had a group of 4) when the dining area didn't appear very busy. It may have been an 'off day' for our wait person (like to give the benefit of the doubt). The food was very good (we all had different entrees). Drink service was also quite slow (unusual). We had to ask several time to have our wait person return to our table.

    The prime rib special was great. But we really enjoyed the salads. Batter on onion rings was nice and light.

    Pancakes, bacon, eggs, toast between the 2 of us, all were excellent! Ammy our server was professional and hard working.

    We had the steak filet, both were prepared very nicely and tasted great. Atmosphere was perfect, noise level low, our server was a hard worker.

    Three-course Thanksgiving dinner was terrific! Such great vibes throughout the lobby where families had evidently met up for the holiday weekend: cousins playing board games while others were warming at fireplaces—it was fantastic! So was the food of course!

    This place has a nice ambience. We paid $55 per person for the Thanksgiving buffet. Overall it was just ok. The turkey was cut from a round loaf that had what looked like ground meat in the center. I couldn't eat it due to an awful taste and even worse texture. That was disappointing. The rest of the food was good, but not great. My husband enjoyed the beef, although it was cooked really rare. There were several varieties of cheese, but nothing to put it on (like crackers). They made some traditional Thanksgiving food; however, some of it was so different from traditional food, I would have rather had traditional food over gourmet food. I missed stuffing and cranberry sauce. Our server was excellent. She kept our drinks filled and plates cleared. They had nice Christmas music playing. I will go back, but not for a buffet. It wasn't worth it.
