Simon and Tania Johnson have owned Tinamba Hotel since October 2020 and feel honoured to be the custodians of the hotel’s proud heritage as they build upon a vision from previous owners, Brad Neilson, Damien Gannon, the Schoenmaeker and Whelan families.

Using the finest, locally grown fresh produce from local suppliers and working with the most talented chefs in the region is what the Johnsons believe sets Tinamba Hotel apart. The signature dishes deliver a truly memorable experience, served in a setting famously known as Gippsland’s favourite destination dining venue.

From the first-class dining experience within the dining room, lounge and conservatory, to the relaxed atmosphere in the Amba Bar and on the outdoor veranda, Simon, Tania and the Tinamba Hotel team provide the finest example of country hospitality for local and visiting customers alike.

    My partner and I dined at the Tinamba Hotel on a Saturday night and chose from the a la carte menu. The entrees (venison and pork jowl) were excellent. We shared a lamb shoulder for our mains with three sides. We couldn't fault any of these dishes. The only thing that let down an outstanding dining experience is that the desserts both fell a bit short of the mark. This hotel is a true gem on a crossroad "in the middle of nowhere" and it's well making the effort to discover.

    It was a great experience. Maybe a heating system for outdoor area while it's cold. Other than that the foodnwas amazing !!!!

    We enjoyed our 6 course tasting dinner. The service was very good (and great that it was back to its usual level of service as our last visit the service wasn't to the usual standard) A great night overall.

    This was a fabulous eating experience but was let down by two things towards the end of our visit. The service standard dropped in the dessert course-a waitress table spill was not cleaned up, the second dessert was delivered before the plates from the first were taken away, the drinks order was mucked up. We had been told we would receive two smaller portions of menu desserts in the degustation but that was not the case. We received one and a lesser non-menu item. There was no explanation it was simply delivered without comment. Also my husband did express he would prefer not to have kangaroo but one of the mains was kangaroo. Disappointing. The food was fabulous but the service and value let the experience down.

    We had the gnocchi and squid then the tiramasu & apple tart. Didnt realise we could have had a main size of the gnocchi, it was amazing!!! ,

    Amazing service from the moment we stepped inside. Food was first class and ambience was perfect. Couldn’t fault anything it was perfect we will definitely return. Thanks for a great experience!!
