So my husband and I travel the world eating at the best of the best . We live in Dallas , and Toro Toro has been on my list for quite some time . We had to get our vehicle serviced in Fort Worth , so it was the perfect opportunity to try it out at lunch . The taste of the food was incredible . Cocktails were amazing . However , when I sat down and removed my napkin from my plate there was nasty brown avocado on my supposed to be fresh napkin and supposed to be clean plate . No big deal , things happen . However , when I showed the waiter , he never once apologized just said “I’ll get you another” . Again , okay , no big deal . The straw that broke it all , was when we ordered the sweet corn empanadas . It comes with three . My husband ate one , tasted amazing . I ate one , also , amazing . He went to split the third and there was a hair ball on the OUTSIDE of the empanada , underneath the crust above the avocado smear . When I say hairball , it’s unmistakable . It looked like someone dropped it and said “5 second rule” and threw it on top of the smear OR had the empanada in their pocket with lint . I was so grossed out , but still kept my composure . When our waiter came to check on us and we showed him , again there was NEVER an apology . He said “no one here has white hair expect me , and we get that all the time , it’s actually the corn husk” ?! That’s cool if it were INSIDE the empanada with the CORN ! AND we have shucked corn , we know corn husk , this was NOT that . The entrees were so good , but the lack of apologies , recognition , or any kind of remorse is not okay ! We expected the empanadas to not be on the ticket , but guess what , they were . No big deal , we have eaten many $300 lunches , but I can say we have never had an experience like this ! We will NOT be back . Do better . I think your worldly acclaimed chef would be highly disappointed .

Took over 20 minutes to be greeted by a server after we sat down. They claimed there was a “mix-up” in whose table we were. A bit surprising for a place of this caliber. The food was good.

Once again we selected Toro Toro for the ambience and cool factor. Love the location and generally diverse menu. The showstopper were the corn empanadas! Fabulous. My filet was very good as well. From there it was downhill. The cauliflower steak was nothing more than a head of cauliflower cut in half with Chimichurri poured over top and a crema sauce at the bottom. Absolutely awful. My carrots were well overcooked, when I asked for them el Dante. Also, this place has never had quick bar service for drinks to come out quickly and it has only gotten worse over time.
