Tucked behind El Barrio Cantina in Long Beach, Tokyo Noir is an intimate 25-seat speakeasy with a side-alley entrance and world-class cocktail program, co-concepted by restaurateur/founder Jesse Duron and acclaimed mixologist Kevin Lee. As the only certified Ice Master outside of Japan, Lee has created a cocktail menu at Tokyo Noir that will make it a destination for serious bar culture fans, who want to experience the art and craft of cocktailing. The beverages are complemented by a robust izakaya-style menu from Chef Ulises Alfaro-Piñeda, with craveable small plates that go beyond bar snack expectations. As a whole, this discreet speakeasy concept will surprise locals and impress the industry.

    Tokyo Noir’s ambiance evokes a sense of neighborhood comfort while remaining exclusive. The atmosphere, curated with dim lighting and moody decor, transports guests into a world of noir films and vintage Tokyo charm. With old-school hip hop playing, guests are invited to sip bespoke cocktails. We have a parking lot across the street. The entrance is the second door in the alleyway on the side of the restaurant. Under the red paper lantern. Please watch out for cars and once you press the button to get in, wait behind the light pole away from traffic for hostess to come get you.

    Fun, little place to go to. I took my friends for Christmas and we had a great time. Drinks were delicious, the establishment had a lounge feel which was nice, and the food was good.

    Made reservations in Nov for a 11:30pm reservation in Dec. Got seated at midnight. We specified the reservation was for the bar. Initially got seated at a table, then moved us to the bar. Once we got settled in, we were ready to order food. Little did the waitress tell us the kitchen closes at midnight.  I understand they just opened but to make reservations and get seated 30 minutes later there should be a time limit of a reservation to two hours. I was so excited getting there to only be disappointed in the level of disorganization and unable to order food. It was bad enough we waited close to a month to get the first available time slot before midnight. The only thing that made it a little better were the drinks.

    The food was delicious and the drinks were amazing and so unique. The staff is friendly and personable! It was a whole vibe!

    I came for the drinks, but I’ll be coming back just for the edamame. Pair them together, and you’ve got the perfect night out. Tokyo Noir is the place to be if you want top-notch cocktails and snacks that are anything but ordinary.

    Creative cocktails. We enjoyed the Okinawa Gimlet, Drunken Tiger, Monochrome and more. Food was small plates. Tasty. Make sure you order several or eat before you arrive.

    Love this place! The staff was very knowledgeable of their menu items. The drinks and food were creative and delicious. Don’t pass on the corn dogs or the wagyu skirt. The music selection was perfect. The place is small, but I think that’s why it’s a speakeasy. Was it pricey?- A little. Was it worth it?-Definately!
