Tribute is a unique restaurant located on the Halifax Waterfront. Defined not by a specific cuisine, but by a place - Nova Scotia - Tribute sources the best local ingredients to pay homage to authentic, impactful dishes with international influences, showcased through live fire and charcoal cookery in an open kitchen-to-dining room. With a fun and elevated approach to East Coast hospitality, Tribute is open for dinner Wednesday through Sunday, offering a chef’s tasting menu and wider options a la carte, paired with nimble wine and cocktail lists. Menus will change often to highlight seasonal ingredients from Nova Scotian farmers and producers.

The halibut was exquisite. The taste was so pleasing. The sides were fresh and so delicious. The lasagna was very different in a wonderful way. Again so very fresh. Dessert sweet potato ball was like a celebration of flavour in the mouth! Loved the decor. The staff were so competent and vested in the restaurant. Chef Colin made his rounds to check in with clients. Cannot wait to go back!

Really enjoyed Tribute. Great atmosphere. Food was great with excellent presentation. Portion sizes for the mains were good with the exception of the Balanzoni. While delicious 5 small pieces seemed a bit on the light side. Wine selection was good and priced comparatively to other restaurants. Still working on getting their beer taps up and running. Overall, great first experience at a new restaurant. Would return!

This place is pretty perfect. Food options for every palate. The food was delicious, well thought out and presented. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Great vibe in the place. Will definitely return with friends and spread the word. Thanks for opening a solid contender for best resturant in the city.

This was our second time at Tribute and it was once again "fantastic". Started with the raw tuna appetizer; it was presented like a work of art. The sauce that accompanied the thin raw slices of tuna was unbelievable! For the main course the table had 2-4 person steak option. Again wonderfully presented and it came with potatoes, vegetables and three types chipotle sauce which were all incredible. The crew at Tribute, although new, ran the evening like a well oiled machine! Can't wait to return in December for my wife's Birthday dinner.

A friend and I had a beautiful meal together at Tribute and couldn’t have imagined anything better. We started off with the featured pasta, which set the tone for the evening. It was flavourful, and you could tell it was made with care and consideration - a value, very clearly upheld in every bite, sip, and design detail in the space. From there, we indulged in the bistecca - a perfectly prepared cut of t-bone steak that was served with 3 delicious sauces, and sides of vegetables. Pared with a lovely red wine, these dishes left us feeling satisfied but not full - as we decided to order both desserts on offer. My favorite of the two was the donut! A round of applause for the entire team - the whole experience was absolutely perfect from start to finish. Each staff member was knowledgeable, inviting, cheerful, and helpful in communicating about each dish. I can’t wait to go back!

What a great experience. The tasting menu was amazing. We upgraded to the steak and didn’t regret it. Our server - Peter - was brilliant. He is the type of server you’d follow to any restaurant. Our sommelier (not really) was Dave. He was disinterested to the point of being comedic so we actually enjoyed our time with him too. All in all - a shining new culinary star on the Halifax waterfront. Go.

I rarely write restaurant reviews because, let’s face it, most places are just fine. But last night, we had dinner at Tribute, and let me tell you, it was phenomenal! The decor is a perfect blend of natural wood and metal accents—tastefully simple, and can I just say, great chairs! Super comfy, making it easy to enjoy incredible food. Now, onto the food—because that’s why we’re here! We started with the fire-grilled bread (a must-try). My partner went all-in with the chef’s tasting menu, while I had the best Halibut of my life. We practically licked our plates clean. The service was friendly and professional. We’ll be back! Thank you for the great evening!

Incredible night at Tribute. Beautiful spot, and food that exceeds expectations; better than anything else in Halifax. Great modern layout with unobstructed views of the harbour front and into the open kitchen. Perfect service with friendly, approachable staff who were unpretentious. The steak on the open wood fire was 👌, but much to my surprise was surpassed by the unreal creamy celery root soup with smoked bacon and crispy kale. Will be back again soon I’m sure.
