Located in the heart of Cooper Young, a historic Midtown restaurant and retail destination, Tsunami is a Pacific Rim-inspired restaurant where guests can feel like globetrotters from the comfort of their own table.

Award-winning owner and Chef Ben Smith fuses various ethnic cuisines—from Asia and the South Pacific to France and the American South—to create unique and flavorful small plates and seafood specialties.

The cozy restaurant, adorned with local art and handmade accents, offers a unique bar centerpiece with fine wines and liquors, local draft beers, and daily-rotating specialty cocktails.

Consistently named “Best Seafood Restaurant” in the Memphis Magazine and Memphis Flyer, coveted Tsunami entrées including a spice-crusted tuna with wasabi vinaigrette, beef tenderloin with smoked chile butter, and roasted seabass with black Thai rice and soy beurre blanc.

    I’ve been a supporter of Tsunami for a very long time. Staff was professional, thoughtful…and very attentive. The food was enjoyable and we enjoyed the meal. We were there on a Wednesday evening and it was a slow evening. Not great for the owner, but we enjoyed the low noise level very much. I have been in on busy evenings and can attest to their consistency. I plan to return. PS The bread was awesome 👏

    We were very disappointed. Our favorite dish is the sea bass and we were informed they didn’t have it available. It was our 49th anniversary and we had driven 30 miles to eat our favorite dish. The fish we had was excellent but not even close to the sea bass. We did expect something for celebrating our anniversary but that didn’t happen

    Totally phenomenal experience. Entire staff are incredible professionals, food was executed perfectly. They have been at this a long time and the craftsmanship shines.

    Everyone had a wonderful dinner last night. The barramundi was delicious and the sea bass, as always, was a classic. Tried the tofu for the first time and loved it! Thank you for a great evening out
