Uchi, "home" in Japanese, is founded by James Beard Award-winning Chef Tyson Cole. A delicate balance of elevated food and impeccable service, Uchi offers non-traditional Japanese cuisine with signature tastings, sushi, and seasonal omakase. Reservations are encouraged and can be booked online up to 1 month in advance. Walk-in bar seating is available and is subject to wait times. Patio seating is weather permitting and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. We look forward to serving you, Kanpai!

We had an unbelievable experience. The food was fantastic and most importantly, the service we received was better than any ***** restaurant that I have ever dined at in my life! A special shout out to Kanaan. Please give her a raise and/or promotion because she made this experience wonderful!!

It was ok, but probably not returning. First, the ambience and location of the restaurant was nice. Located at downtown Scottsdale, it was easy for us to find parking and had plenty of choices to go after dinner. Second, service was slow. We ordered five (5) dishes and they brought each dishes separately. After ordering, it took about 15-20 minutes to get our first dish, then another 15-20 minutes to get our second dish; repeat this until our last/fifth dish. They also accidentally brought us a different dish that we thought was ours, but was half way eating it was later advised by our server it was not. Fortunately, they did not charge us extra. Third and final, food was not to par for the price we paid. I have tried other sushi restaurants in the valley and expected their food quality to be richer. Glad we tried it, but probably not returning.

Great experience, staff, service quality, teamwork, flavors, food presentation, freshness, the tasting menu is the way to go! Definitely going back, favorite restaurant in Scottsdale.

We had heard pretty good things about Uchi and the food. We were very excited to try it out. Right off the bat, our service was terrible. Our waitress never introduced herself, never welcomed us into the restaurant never explained the menu took her 15 minutes to pour us some water. She forgot all of our drinks two of our items we ordered were never delivered. She was very distracted and slow. The only thing she offered was the chefs tasting option but failed to mention it cost almost $400 for 2 people. So we had to ask her. We were so shocked that a restaurant at that caliber had a server with apparently zero experience or even common awareness as to how to welcome guests in and explain a menu. It truly ruined our overall experience and I doubt we will ever go back. The food was good- but not outstanding! Get ready to go home and want to supplement with a snack!

If you’re looking for a restaurant with an amazing vibe, Uchi is a must-visit. The atmosphere is chic and welcoming, and the staff is incredibly attentive and thoughtful, making the dining experience truly enjoyable. The ingredients are impressively fresh, and the flavor combinations are unique and expertly crafted. Every dish feels meticulously prepared with incredible attention to detail. We tried their happy hour special—a 10-course tasting menu for just $120 for two people—and it was absolutely worth it. Each dish was a delightful surprise, full of creativity and balanced flavors. The pork belly skewer with green sauce was a standout, perfectly tender with a vibrant, savory kick. Overall, Uchi is the perfect place for an elevated dining experience without breaking the bank, especially during happy hour. Highly recommended!

This is the third time I've eaten here. The first time was when they first opened and it took two hours for us to get our food-- we ended up canceling our last order of nigiri because it took forever. The second time was great and speedy-- ate at sushi bar. The most recent time was a repeat of our first experience. Nigiri took forever. A sushi restaurant should know how to get sushi out of the kitchen in a timely manner. They need to figure out their flow. The time it takes to get the food makes the lack of food all you can focus on. We felt bad constantly following up with our server and knew that it wasn't in her hands. When the food does come, it's great, but will probably not go back here because the time it takes to get one bite of nigiri is just unsettling, especially for how expensive the food it.
