We recently had the pleasure of dining at Uchiko Plano, where we opted for the omakase tasting menu, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish.
From the moment we arrived, the ambiance set the stage for an intimate and immersive dining experience. The service was top-notch, and our server, Tommy, went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. His knowledge of the menu, thoughtful recommendations, and friendly demeanor made the evening even more enjoyable.
Each course was a masterpiece—both visually stunning and bursting with flavor. The oysters were a refreshing start, featuring a seasonal selection with beautifully balanced toppings. The hirame usuzukuri, with its delicate flounder and candied quinoa, was a standout, offering a perfect contrast of textures. The bluefin tuna maki and madai + otoro sashimi showcased the restaurant’s commitment to top-quality ingredients and expert preparation.
One of the most memorable dishes was the Westholme ribeye, which was cooked to perfection and complemented by tamari au poivre and birch syrup—an indulgent and flavorful dish that left a lasting impression. The evening concluded with oolong okashi, a creative take on carrot cake that was both familiar and surprising in the best way.
Beyond the food, the cocktails were just as impressive. The beautifully presented drinks enhanced the experience, each crafted with precision and creativity.
