Ula is a beautiful European Mediterranean restaurant and tapas bar in San Francisco. Sip your martini or quality wine with a seafood-centric menu that has a focus on raw, roasted, and grilled fish and various roasted and grilled meats, pasta, gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan selections. The restaurant is maximalist art deco with fixtures that depict jellyfish, oysters, and grand maritime vessels. Just a hop from Union Square, the delightfully vintage dining room begs to be paired with a nostalgic trolley ride and a stroll through the heart of the city. Dining is available inside only (and you wouldn’t want it any other way). We look forward to serving you. From the Mediterranean with Love. All welcome.

Drinks took 20 minutes to arrive..not worth the wait..ordered black truffle old fashion..drink was merky mud water looking with terrible presentation my glass was half full while my wife's was 1/3 full and poor taste. Main course arrived before appetizers so canceled those..Filet mignon was bland as was the seafood paella which had sausage in place of chorizo..at least tasted so. Tje Bolognese was very good. Service was extremely slow. Extra charges are added to bill approximately 40% extra fees. Will not return and don't recommend.

This place takes forever to serve your food. We waited almost two hours. We left with out eating they took so long. Never again. Bad experience for our valientes dinner ruined. Thanks Ula 👎

Loved Ula, first time for me and my wife and our first Valentine’s Day together as husband and wife. Ian our server was nothing short of amazing. Will be back here and already recommending to my friends!

Delicious, beautifully presented food and lovely service! Music was too loud. Great setting- Love the tiles in the back part of the restaurant from the former swim club and the amazing Daum-like sea creature light fixtures and glowing columns.

The staff is friendly and a ginger. We liked all the dishes we ordered. Definitely a place to come back.

Nothing outstanding and some not good. Black Manhattan had too much Amaro. Lemoncello drop was unfinished. Just not good cocktails. Beet salad was good, but burrata was an afterthought in that dish. Focaccia- unremarkable. Land meatballs very good, but why not give more sauce with them? Tuna tartare, meh. No flavor. This is next door to Morton’s. It needs to stand out and be better than formula food. It doesn’t.

Such a let down. We came for our anniversary, made a reservation two weeks in advance. Apparently they were hosting a private event for something for a conference. Walking in involved going through a networking event with the lights turned all the way up. Menu was limited selection, 125 per person with an extra charge if you wanted bread. Made no effort to let us know we wouldn’t be getting a regular menu before, found out after we were seated. Messed up our order, staff were moving tables and bars while we dined, lights were high noon the entire meal. Not at all the experience we were lead to believe we’d get let alone for 400 for two people. Felt like we were picking leftovers from the catered event they hosted. Save your money and go some place the values your business.
