Uncle Bacala’s specializes in Italian-style seafood and other inventive dishes in its warm and cozy New Hyde Park eatery. For a tantalizing start to your meal, enjoy the mozzarella in carrozza cheese-stuffed fried country bread and the mashed potato and mozzarella croquettes, both served with marinara sauce. Some of Uncle Bacala’s house entrées include the breaded salmone in agrodolce served over eggplant in a honey garlic sauce, the beef filetto di manzo with mushrooms, roasted potatoes and spinach in gorgonzola-cognac sauce and the apricot-glazed grilled pork chop. Pasta dishes are also popular with diners at Uncle Bacala’s, with options including the baked penne gratin with pancetta and cheese in a creamy sauce and the zucchini linguini fra diavolo, all of which can be made gluten free.
Round out your amazing meal with a homemade dessert, such as the fruit and caramel topped Belgian waffle Waffellini.

We went for an early dinner on NYE and initially thought it was going to be nuts with the crowd already there at 6pm. Was pleasantly surprised! The meal was was delicious. Got the special angel hair pasta with shrimp and lobster was delicious wish this would stay in menu! Peter is all over everything including food, staff and bar. So friendly to all of the customers. Bacala's has been there for so many years when prior to this restaurants came and go at this location.
