Unfortunately, this was one of the worst dining experiences I've had in Portland, and I eat out often. Our reservation was for 7pm. The restaurant was not packed, but they acted as if they were extremely busy. There was one large dinner group that was getting most of their attention, but I think a restaurant like this should be able to handle a single large group without other service suffering. Our first and only cocktails we ordered arrived at 7:30. The salad we ordered as a side came at 7:40. I had to ask them for the complimentary cornbread, and it didn't even come out until after the salad. We ordered the new york steak sampler and a side of twice baked fingerling potatoes. That did not come to the table until 8:25! We had to keep getting employees attention to ask about the wait rather than them checking in on us. Each time we did, we were told it would just a couple minutes and that it's cause there was one large party. When the steak did come, it was warm but not fresh - as if it had finished and sat while they were running out all the other plates they were backed up with. Also the food was just mediocre - I'd compare it with Claim Jumper, which I haven't been to since I was in college. But the last time I was at Claim Jumper and there was a 45 minute delay, the manager comped our entire meal. UF said that since we were there for a birthday, they would comp us a single drink. On top of that, I tried charging the meal to the room, and it wouldn't work. I had to get up from the table and go to the front desk to fix this. I can be flexible and understanding, but when you're getting a $200 meal for two people that takes an hour and a half and is just spaced out and the results are mediocre - you really should make a better effort to make up for the negative experience. Not worth the price, not worth the wait, truly an incredibly negative first impression. I feel a bit bad giving such a bad review, but it is 100% accurate and honest.
