Utter Waffle - a gem within the South London brunch scene! We opened our Herne Hill restaurant in 2021, and since have become an institution in Herne Hill's small but awesome food scene. Since our launch, we've collected a small cabinet of trophies and awards, and have even cooked our savoury waffles on Masterchef, Sunday Brunch & Saturday Kitchen!
Our busy brunch restaurant serves everything from fried chicken & waffles and our signature avo smash, to bottomless brunch & craft beers. For those with a sweet tooth - fret not as the desserts are pretty good too - (we're even the proud winners of The Best Dessert in the UK (British Street Food Awards)), so there really is something for everyone!
We pride ourselves on a super-inclusive menu and ability to cater for those with dietary requirements; We're co-owned by a coeliac, don't handle any gluten on-site, plus we boast loads of vegetarian and vegan options too! So what are you waiting for!?

The food is absolute top draw every time I go, always feel safe RE allergens in there and staff are friendly and understanding. The food itself is 10/10, taste excellent, the combinations of items on the waffles as well are unique but work so well

It was my first visit. The service was great, the food was banging, and I definitely would come again. The only thing is the fruit flies! I don't know if it was due to the hanging plants, but they were a nuisance. Other than that, it was a wonderful first experience.

Fantastic and tasty breakfast! GF waffles are the best I’ve ever had! Freshly squeezed OJ was delicious. Just 4 minute walk from Herne Hill train station. Very small so suggest scheduling a reservation!

Excellent food, so very tasty, with a truly warm and welcoming service. Nothing was too much trouble. (My only criticism, as someone disabled living with high pain levels, I struggled with the hard seating and the level of noise. Some soft furnishings to soften the seating and dampen the noise would be a great tweak.) Thank you Utter Waffle for a fabulous lunch! So happy we found you. Of all the gluten free offerings I’ve tried, you are the best! You wouldn’t know it’s gluten free, and that is mightily impressive. We will be back for sure! Highly recommend these guys. You can tell they are passionate about what they do, and they love it. It really shows.
