I booked a table for 4 people using Open Table. On the booking, I made a note that we were celebrating a birthday. On top on this, I made an additional note with a request for a Bread basket to be waiting on the table for us, and if it was possible to do, then a plate saying Happy Birthday using olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
On Saturday, 2 of us arrived at 8.25pm to the restaurant (early), we waited to be seen for 10 minutes. After finally being seen, we were told that the table upstairs was not yet ready and that the diners did not want to leave. We were asked to leave and come back in 15 minutes. I was shocked at what I was hearing, firstly that the other diners were more important, they were not yet ready to leave so were allowed to keep the table, and we were expected to simply wait, but not just wait, to leave the restaurant and to return soon. On a cold, dark Saturday night, we are expected to just stand around outside and wait. Just to add, that our other guests had already arrived too and were also just outside with us.

I could not believe the lack of apology or even gesture to try and help make our evening a bit nicer, and to try and make it up to us after such a poor experience. Furthermore, we were told we were given a smaller table for a few moments but would be moved to a larger one once cleared, but this too was not offered to us again.
With the food, two of us ordered pasta and one of the portions was half the size of the other. We did mention this on the nig
