San Diego revelers, take heed: the promise of a splendid New Year’s Eve supper at Vincenzo Cucina & Lounge proved as slippery as the melted ice beneath their ill-fated oysters. With reservations secured via OpenTable, one might expect punctual seating and polished service. Alas, such expectations were dashed upon arrival, where a 40-minute wait ensued before seating was granted, and only after persistent inquiry. The scene suggested a deliberate overbooking strategy, leaving both reservation holders and walk-ins stranded in a state of uncertainty—a move more befitting a train station than an esteemed dining establishment. Once seated, the evening showed a glimmer of redemption, thanks to the affable waitress who navigated the chaos with grace. Yet, management’s mishandling of the reservation system cast a long shadow over the festivities, leaving diners to wonder whether their patronage was truly valued. The culinary offerings, while flavorful, arrived lukewarm—lobster ravioli and ribs served at a temperature more suitable for leftovers than the celebratory feast promised. The bustling crowd may explain this misstep, though one expects a capable kitchen to rise to such occasions. But the gravest offense lay in the oysters. Presented on a bed of melted ice, they exuded a foul taste so foreboding that they were promptly returned to the kitchen. An ominous harbinger indeed for those brave enough to partake. As the clock struck “time to get the check”, it was clear that the evening’s most memorable note was not the champagne, but the sour taste left by an establishment that failed to meet its moment. A New Year’s Eve supper should dazzle; instead, this one stumbled.

Food is good, service people are friendly. We were disappointed that our dish came with spiral noodles. We visited earlier in the week and our grandkids ordered a dish that had spaghetti noodles and loved it. Ordered the same dish this time and spiral noodles. I had even asked the waiter what kind of noodles the dish came with as our grandkids loved eating the spaghetti noodles, he said yes spaghetti. Otherwise food was good and service was great.

We did the pre fix new years eve dinner. It was a great value and the food was delicious. I had romaine butternut squash salad and gnocci both were delicious. The chocolate cake was the best I have ever had. Our waiter was attentive and informative. Overall good experience

Super fun place to take the family. The boys watched the football game and the girls enjoyed the dance music! Service staff went above and beyond! Calamari was the best!

Food was great. Ambience great. Service was great but we didn’t get the table or service we requested and reserved. We wanted the whole cheese wheel experience and were sat at a table as if we were walk-ins. The host said the cheese wheel comes around and is mobile, the server said that’s not true. Somewhere down the line there was a disconnection. Other than that we enjoyed our drinks and meals.

The food was great. The atmosphere was great. The staff was polite and efficient. My wife and I both had the fettuccine alfredo from the cheese wheel bar and it was fresh and creamy. Our waiter made an excellent recommendation for a wine pairing. Overall great experience for a night out in Little Italy.

Great location, space, decor. We had a larger party so things took longer to get started and waited a while for our order to be taken. Other than that everything was yummy.

Dined at 6:30 pm on Christmas Day. We were seated 30 min before our reservation which was fantastic. The waitress was amazingly friendly but I could tell there was not enough staff to wait on all the customers on a busy Christmas night. The food was great although our appetizer never came. There was no problem removing it from the check. I’d like to thank our fantastic waitress and try Vincenzo again, but maybe on a major holiday like Christmas.

no one came to our table for 30 minutes after being seated, we flagged down a passing waitress and she said she'll take our order even though it was not her table. Thank you to her. twenty minutes later she came back with a few carafes of water. we helped ourselves. fast foward an hour and half later, only half of our table got some food, a mishmash of pastas and a couple of pizzas, no one knew why some of our party got served as no one had their appetizers yet. we had to flagged down our elusive waitress and complained. she said she kn will check with the kitchen. Waiting another 20 minutes, I went looking for the manager. By now he was at our table. He started confirming what was missing which took a few minutes and went to talk to the kitchen. he said the food was made and it's coming . 5 minutes later, the missing entrees showed up, our seating was at 6 and got all our food at 8PM. the steak and the mash was cold. The waitress never came back to check on us. we couldn't complain as there was no one to complain to. adding insult to injury our various salads showed up when we finished our entrees. The bill came with the automatic 20% gratuity which we weren't informed of and the credit card machine asked for additional gratuity which my wife clicked by mistake not knowing there was already an automatic 20% for larger parties. Food was OK compared to other Italian places around town. Thumb's down for service.
