VU Rooftop is a 13,000 square foot concept located 22 stories high next door to McCormick Place. Here, you can enjoy an ingredient-driven beverage program, a top-notch culinary experience and unparalleled views of the Lake and Downtown within a modern designed space. VU is a year-round rooftop with outdoor terraces and enclosed spaces. Outdoor seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Due to weather or limited availability, seating may be indoors.

The ambiance was nice, but I wish the customer service had matched. I had high expectations for this place after reading the FAQ on their website. The food wasn't bad, but the dessert was disappointing. I was served a hard cold, old cake, and while they didn't charge me for it, that didn't make the experience any better. I was really looking forward to dessert. The waitress seemed more aggravated than anything, which was a bit annoying. Would I go again? Probably just once, hoping for a better experience. I do like the setup. The music gets loud sometimes- there should've announcement when that is about to happen or do it gradually.

I enjoyed the service so much. The fact that they helped celebrate my partner's birthday with a dessert was so special. And the views are always amazing! Though, I was disappointed that we could not be outside, it was a good time.

Great views of city and lake. Pleasant check in experience. Seated promptly. Food service was fair but was very busy. Waiter was excellent. Food selection was basic bar service. Not bad, just nothing special.

We decided to try the brunch buffet, but I was disappointed by the limited options considering the cost. However, the mac 'n' cheese was definitely a highlight.

Has the worst chairs. Decent place if you can get a couch-sitting which is only for large parties. The view is beautiful. The food was basic drinks were good though. Service was worth $5 tip
