Great experience. The food was delicious and the service was fantastic. We enjoyed their tasting experience which was well worth it. Four courses plus a paired saki tasting for only $30pp. Absolutely worth it. Highly recommended!

Coming from the UK we are very familiar with Wagamama. The great tasting and consistent food, swift no hassle seating and courteous and efficient staff, well unfortunately this hasn’t translated very well in America. Despite booking we waited about 30 minutes to be seated. The lady server was pleasant enough, but clearly had enough of the day (not her fault as there were a lot people ‘looking busy’). The food was exactly what we had come to expect from our trip. Fried. Fried and then fried again. You could snap the calamari and the children’s katsu chicken was black it had been so fried. Even the cauliflower had been fried. Who does that. The store was kind enough to comp some bits but was a long way off being enjoyable

The food was excellent, but service was lackluster at best. Our server seemed generally uninterested in our table and continuously forgot to bring plates, silverware, drinks, etc.

We enjoyed Wagamama. The food was excellent. We received a 15% discount when we said we’d be attending a concert at Carnegie Hall after our meal.

The hostess was inexperienced and apathetic. She should have informed us that they were unable to make anything fried PRIOR to making us wait for 15 minutes, in spite of us having a booking and arriving on time. When another guest overhead us about what we were planning to get, only he had the courtesy to tell us that they aren’t able to serve anything fried (roughly 1/3 to 1/2 their menu). When I mentioned this to the hostess she visibly shrugged and said “oh ok”. The server was more empathetic and had the best intentions, but she appeared overworked in an understaffed / under motivated environment.

We admittedly were looking for sushi and when we searched Yelp, this was one of the choices. There was no sushi on the menu upon arrival... It was "other" Asian Fushion. That said, the menu was inventive and varied. There were booths along the walls of the place where you could sit back and relax. We, on the other hand, were seated on the less-comfortable wooden benched communal table, though a table setting separated us from the families with cute screaming babies. Our Wagamama salad with salmon was delicious (though the salmon was too well cooked) and our tuna takaki also quite good. Our cod with soba noodles was salty and greasy and it took a very long time for me to get my green tea (30+ minutes). We would not come back.

I came to the restaurant with two friends to take advantage of the $30 tasting menu. The server told us the menu was not available since the fryer was broken. I was a bit disappointed because I was looking forward to this specialized menu. It would have been nice if there were substitute items that could have been a part of the tasting menu. In addition when we were served our appetizer, we were not given serving plates but rather had to request them which was a bit surprising. Not sure if I will come back again.
