The atmosphere was festive, but the service and the food was lacking. I got my Chicken Katsu curry almost immediately. My partner got his ginger chicken udon noodles much later after which raised the red flag for both of us. There was a long time gap. Our drinks took forever to come. My beer was in a can. How hard is that? And my partner's cocktail was not prepared as listed in the menu with a full rimmed glass besides the fact it came well after the meal started. My dish was bland and overcooked, though it was the most popular dish. The chicken was super dry and burnt. The greens, however, were fresh. My other half’s ginger chicken udon was better, but I found the noodles to be gummy and not flavorful. He had more issues with the kitchen service than the food. The wait staff was pleasant, but also disappeared when most of the diners left before 8 PM. She did comp my partner's cocktail. Overall it was a bust for me. It was our first experience there. My partner's friend liked dining there before going to Carnegie Hall.

The veg food was ok, the non veg was better. The drinks came after the meal was half finished, even though the restaurant wasn’t too busy. Wait staff forgot to bring forks and hating plates.

Great experience. The food was delicious and the service was fantastic. We enjoyed their tasting experience which was well worth it. Four courses plus a paired saki tasting for only $30pp. Absolutely worth it. Highly recommended!

Coming from the UK we are very familiar with Wagamama. The great tasting and consistent food, swift no hassle seating and courteous and efficient staff, well unfortunately this hasn’t translated very well in America. Despite booking we waited about 30 minutes to be seated. The lady server was pleasant enough, but clearly had enough of the day (not her fault as there were a lot people ‘looking busy’). The food was exactly what we had come to expect from our trip. Fried. Fried and then fried again. You could snap the calamari and the children’s katsu chicken was black it had been so fried. Even the cauliflower had been fried. Who does that. The store was kind enough to comp some bits but was a long way off being enjoyable

The food was excellent, but service was lackluster at best. Our server seemed generally uninterested in our table and continuously forgot to bring plates, silverware, drinks, etc.
