Overlooking the confluence of Spray and Bow Rivers, The Waldhaus. our "House in the Forest" is a retreat for those seeking solace from Banff's bustle. What began as the Clubhouse for the renowned Stanley Thompson Golf Course has transformed into a sanctuary of Mountain gastronomy. In the dining room above, rich timber and a majestic hearth narrate the epic tales of bygone explorations. Meanwhile, the Bierhalle below is where history and merriment collide, offering a spirited space for companionship, games, and the shared joy of storied adventures.

Please note:
- The Waldhaus is designated as a historical building and such has stairs to access all areas.
- The Bierhalle and Billardhalle only take limited reservations, otherwise operating on a first-come, first-served basis
- Regrettably the Waldhaus does not take reservations for its patio due to the unpredictability of mountain weather however, we will do our best to accommodate patio requests on a per case basis.

The hotel's parking is located beside the Convention Center. It is a three-level roofed parkade with 415 parking spaces. Self-Parking Per hour = $15 per hour Self-parking per day = $50 Valet = $49 per day
Public transit
Roam Transit provided by the town of Banff runs approximately every 40 minutes to and from Town to the Fairmont Banff Springs. Enter through the Hotel's main doors proceeding down the hall past the Fairmont Spa and out the doors to your right. Continue down the pathway to the stairs on your left which will take you down to the Waldhaus.<br />Bus Fare is $2.00 per person.

We had an amazing evening! Everything was impeccable from the moment we arrived. The service, food, and drinks were fantastic. Highly recommend the steak and short ribs. Perfection!

We had an exceptional dinner in great ambience with very attentive and cheerful staff. Overall quality, service and atmosphere are top notch. From being welcomed by the manager and him taking a few extra minutes to prepare a nice, quiet table for us, to the amazing server with the great attitude and quick attention to our needs, to the warm, inviting and cheerful interior.... it made for a perfect place for a late evening dinner with someone special!

Had a lovely anniversary dinner enjoying the full experience. Starting with a tasty cheese fondue followed by an amazing main and topped of with a great chocolate fondue. Highly recommend the Waldhaus for any special occasion.

It's a cool venue in a great location. Food was okay and service was severely lacking. The only positive was the host who was extremely inviting and friendly.

Everything about our dinner was incredible. My wife had the schnitzel and I had the short rib sauerbraten along with a 1L beer and a glass of wine - perfect. The service was prompt without being annoying and setting itself is beautiful. Couldn't have been better.

We had an excellent meal and mountain view for the evening at Waldhaus, and we were impressed by the accommodations for those with mobility challenges. The Waldhaus is at the top of a steep incline, and is not wheelchair accessible. However, for those with mobility impairment, there is a shuttle that runs from the Fairmont to the front steps of the retaurant - helpful for those like me who use a cane. The two-person tables have the seating angled so you can both look out on the mountains and the valley, while also enjoying each other's company. We shared a cheese fondue with roasted potatoes and bratwurst on the side. The fondue was perfect, and the mustard the bratwurst came with was impressive. For dessert we had the chocolate fondue, which was divine. Our server, Mike, was a joy and very attentive and knowledgeable. 100% will be returning on our next trip.
