Chef Cédric Vongerichten loves the picturesque streets of Nolita, which is why he chose this vibrant Manhattan neighborhood as the location for his new restaurant. Wayan offers Indonesian cuisine with a modern French flair, in a sleek space warmed by teak paneling, lush plants, and whitewashed brick. The unique and varied menu combines seasonal products and savory Southeast Asian flavors. Wayan’s showpiece bar turns out innovative cocktails highlighting ingredients inspired by the region. The cozy dining room, with its soothing tones, recessed lighting, and authentic carvings, promotes the sharing of food and conversation.

    Partial restaurant buyouts for private dining is only available indoors for up to 30 indoors and 24 outdoors with food and beverage minimums based on day of the week. Parties larger than 30 will require a full restaurant buyout with minimums based on day of the week. Full restaurant buyouts have a maximum capacity of 54 sit down and 80 standing.

    Join us on New Year's Eve and experience our special $118 NYE Tumpeng Prix-Fixe menu. In addition to this menu, we'll be offering some of our house favorites like Lobster Noodles and Vegetable Spring Rolls. Note any additional items are not included in the Prix-Fixe menu and will be added to bill. Taxes and gratuity are not included in the pricing and will be added to your final bill. There will be two seatings one from 6:00PM - 9:00PM and 9:00PM - 1:00AM Dinner reservations require a $128 minimum spend on food and drinks per person. A $50 deposit, paid when booking, will be applied to your final bill. Reservations made after 9PM will incur an additional $28 per person which includes a midnight champagne toast and party favors.

    The worst food and service I have ever experienced. $1000 for 5 people on a fixed price menu. The food was undercooked and/or overcooked. The restaurant was freezing and empty.

    The “family style” prix fixe portions for a party of two were a bit skimpier than I’d expected for such an acclaimed restaurant.

    Our waitstaff were awesome. Food was so good. Been here several times already. I like to take new friends and family here. Lobster noodles and crab rice are still my faves. Thank you!

    Wayan is a Nolita/SoHo located Indonesian and French fusion restaurant. This cuisine and style was novel yet comforting. Went with a group of 6 and we tried a good portion of the menu. Lovely decor and moderate noise and energy. We didn’t see the back area but I’m sure with the res availability, it’s sizable. I appreciate how the reservations are attainable yet it is still popular. 1. Satays - lamb, pork, scallops - all were flavorful — 8.2/10 2. Golden Sweet potatoes — godly 9.6/10 3. Citrus salad - refreshing, though the base was chunks of cabbage which isn’t my favorite — 7.6 4. Baby squid - very fried, but quality squid and a delicious & balanced mix of toppings — 8.6 5. Hamachi tartare - fresh seafood, good mix of sweet, bitter, & savory, with a little bit of crunch — 8.4 6. Sea bass - fresh, cooked perfectly, nice light sauce — 8.6 7. Lobster noodles — the revered lobster noodles were excellent, velvety noodles with a sticky coating. Plentiful lobster, portion size was fine given the small bowl. I have had better sauces which is the only detractor — 9.4 8. Crescent duck - really enjoyed this, slept on by my dinnermates — 8.6 9. Corn fritters - yum — 8.8 White wine was a strong choice, moderate sweetness. I have sesame, tree nut, and peanut allergies, and the staff/kitchen were great with accommodating and informing us on what items were safe. Otherwise, the service was good not great. I liked the speed and order of serving the satays, small plates, and then large plates. They did get rid of glasses while someone was going to pour more wine and did not ask about drinks often. I will be returning!

    My fiancée’s sister gave rave reviews of this place so we had to come check it out. Everything from the plating to the service to the flavors of the food was impeccable. We shared a ton of different dishes but we will have to come back for the dessert, we were too full for another course. We made a reservation same day and although our reservation was for the chef’s bar we were upgraded to sitting at a table and couldn’t have been happier! We will 100% return in the future.
