   My husband and I had a great first experience at West Side Ramen. Doug was our server and he was fantastic! Extremely knowledgeable about the menu and recommended delicious appetizers and ramen choices. I had the Chicken Katsu ramen and it knocked my socks off. So flavorful and huge portion sizes I had plenty left over for lunch the next day. We can’t wait to come back for the food, drinks, friendly staff and cool atmosphere.

   Our server Brad was absolutely wonderful! Created a nice evening with our family, & patiently took his time with us, & let us enjoy our dinner!

   Our server was wonderful. We had a lovely experience & will be dining there again in the near future. Highly recommend. FYI the entrance is in the back. You enter from the parking lot not the sidewalk.

   Fried avocado bao appetizer was amazingly light with a nice crunchy piece of fried avocado with the right amount of sauce. The mushroom miso ramen was a very generous portion of ramen noodles, bok choy and mushrooms in a well-balanced broth that wasn’t overly salty like many other restaurants. Our entire party enjoyed their selections and the meal was very affordable with enough leftovers to take home.

   While it is rather pricey, it is definitely worth every penny! Don't come here thinking you're getting traditional ramen - it is definitely leveled up with amazing flavors that can catch you unexpectedly, in a very, very good way! I suggest starting with the Pork Belly Ramen so you can understand what you're getting - that is my favorite and my go to each time I visit. It is so full of flavor and rich that more traditional ramen houses will pale in comparison. Once you've experience the Pork Belly Ramen, expand out to some of the others, which are just as good! I would suggest getting the chili paste on the side as just a little will up the heat level nicely. I made the mistake on my first visit of using it all - still had great flavor, but it was too much on the heat scale for me, and I love heat! In this case, a little definitely goes a long way. On my several visits, I've tried a few of the appetizers, and in my opinion, the Umami Fries stand out above the rest, which is quite a compliment since I haven't had anything less than a great appetizer at WSR. Drinks are well crafted and delicious!

   Everything was so good!! Very fresh and well seasoned authentic ramen bowls! The food portions were huge which I loved!! I will be back very nice for girls night or date night! Drinks were great too! Very fast service as well 😊

   My family and I were so excited when we saw that West Side Ramen was permanently back in Libertyville! The food is great and the service is amazing. The chicken katsu ramen is a classic that I’ll never get tired of ordering. Planning on going back again soon!

   Our server was very nice. The people who worked there seemed knowledgeable and friendly. Service was good but a little slow sometimes and - not the restaurant's fault- but they had a very large party come in and the noise level just went up to the point that we couldn't even hear our conversation sitting across from each other. Food was just okay, may have been what we chose. The fried avocado starter was fantastic, but the ramen was just too difficult to eat without it slopping all over the front of my shirt and also my companion's shirt so maybe we just need to learn how to eat it. Also, it was lukewarm, shouldn't the broth have been piping hot? I'll give it one more chance. Maybe at a quieter time of day. I discovered nori is disgusting.
