Outback steaks at Morton's prices in a dark, gloomy setting.
My ribeye was passable, but with pieces of gristle and bone chips, it was certainly not worth $48. The accompanying potato dish was tasty, but they provided only about 3 tablespoons of it— more like a garnish than a side.
As with most Mexican restaurants, they start you out with complimentary chips and salsa. Inexplicably, the salsa lacked flavor— tasted like mulched eggplant. And watch out— if you ask for more chips, they charge you without first advising.
Service was earnest, but disconnected— three different people served me, none of whom had good command of English or fully understood what I wanted.
Ambience was dark— everything is painted black. Black can be dramatic if well-executed, but this was just— dark.
Certainly not a great experience overall, and I would neither return nor recommend this restaurant.
