There was a time when cocktails had a style and sophistication all their own. When a night out with friends was both an occasion and a celebration in itself, and now this stylish joie de vivre lives again at Whiskey and Soda, the unforgettable lobby bar in the Rand Tower Hotel.

What better inspiration for a roaring good time? Named after two lion cubs who lived among the American airmen of WWI’s Lafayette Escadrille, these furry mascots provide a rich, thematic backdrop for their namesake bar – including delightful elements related to the irrepressible Whiskey and Soda themselves.

We had a reservation to find out it was first come first served. Also, this is not a restaurant. They only offered a hamburger, tartar and fries. I would not recommend this place to eat. Do not wast your time reserving a table as well. Open table should take this off of their list of restaurants.

Don’t bother going if you want whiskey or any specialty drinks. Very limited bar.

They had a limited menu, no whiskey (or any liquor), and the staff was all brand new. The food options were heavy and not very good. The staff was very nice, just to new to be helpful.

Wonderful experience. The salmon was very good as was the vegetable risotto. Our server and also the manager were very gracious and the service was excellent. Prices were fair on both the food and wine. It is a cozy little place and unique.

They were not serving any hard alcohol the Saturday night we went. With whisky in the name, you’d think they’d have at least one whisky drink option. The food was overpriced and poor quality.

Quick option for food within hotel. Bartender was good. Food was just ok. Id give it another try.

Stop by Whiskey both are delicious! For libations, if you like an "old fashioned," I would highly recommend "Paper Plane," one of the menus "golden age classics." I would NOT recommend ordering any straight/neat pours from the whisk(e)y menu; I had an Irish single malt that was way overpriced.

It was my birthday and we decided to go here. Online it looks more like a restaurant not per se a bar. Acknowledged her birthday but didn’t do anything like a piece of cake or anything. The food took forever and there was hardly anyone in the restaurant. The medium burger was more like well and the fries were cool. Overall I was fairly disappointed with the experience
