   My husband and I tried Whiskey Cake Brunch today. The food was delicious, the drinks were delightful (loved the guava gimlet and the maple old fashioned), and the service was impeccable (Mason was great!). We can’t wait to go back and try something new!

   Had a really good experience here the last time, but tonight was just terrible. We had a 7:45 reservation on a Saturday evening. We arrived early and were seated shortly after our reservation time. Restaurant was busy, so that's perfectly understandable. Our waitress was very friendly and welcoming, and took our drink orders promptly. After this, it was all downhill. It took 40 minutes to get our drinks, after having to remind the waitress we hadn't received them. I don't know what happened, but even if the bar is busy, 40 minutes it absolutely unacceptable. When we finally got our drinks we immediately ordered dinner. The food (yard bird) came pretty quickly and was good. No complaints there. My wife ordered another drink, and it took another reminder and over 20 minutes to receive it. By now our waitress has clearly given up on us. We really wanted to have the Whisky Cake for dessert, but by the time the waitress came by again, we were over the painfully slow service. We asked for our checks, payed and left. Ironically, receiving our checks was the fastest service we got all night. We were all really disappointed by tonight's experience. Having been here before, and had great experiences, we were expecting the same. Big failure tonight.

   Fantastic experience all around. We had to wait a bit to be seated, even though we had reservations. It was about 20 minutes, but they were very busy. Food was amazing. Highly recommend the steak frites, candied bacon, and of course the whiskey cake!

   Four seater booths are really for two people. Too squished with four people.

   Food was outstanding. Service was a little lacking this time. Wish there were drink specials for brunch. A little pricey for what you get.

   This place has a great vibe, excellent drinks, and great food. The bar staff was working hard to keep up. The downside—I had a reservation but was still told there’d be a wait. We found seats at the bar and decided to eat there instead. I informed the host to check us in, and they said no problem. Nearly 50 minutes past my reservation time, another hostess told me my table was ready—way too long to wait with a reservation. To make matters worse, they canceled my reservation, so I had to contact OpenTable to get my points reinstated. Great spot, but the reservation system needs improvement.

   Our second time at Whiskey Cake in Jacksonville FL. Very good food both times. Service is friendly, polite and fast. We will go back for sure.

    This restaurant has potential but right now it is hit or miss. On the positive they did not rush our table to complete our dining experience. Staff was friendly and the manager even came to our table when an item was not available to apologize and offer an appetizer gift certificate. The mock tails were even better than the drinks with alcohol! The negatives were food did not come out hot. And the fries that came with the steak were overcooked to the point of being inedible. The steak was tough at times and only warm. The bacon appetizer was very good, the brussel sprouts were mushy and spicy. The whiskey cake was good but pepper flavored with some bites. the whipped cream was really tasty! pricing was on the high side for ok entrees. I am hopeful the missed opportunities will improve.
