Server was very professional and cheerful. After waiting for an hour for our main course (both the same lamb dish) we were told the chef was not happy with the quality of the dish and would not be serving it to us. We chose again and one meal was acceptable, the other was very poor, a slab pie with uncooked, very thick pastry, gloopy filling, with little meat. The veg and gravy were nice enough. We had two different puddings and both were very nice. We were not charged for the poor main course and the server was most apologetic. We have visited this restaurant for around 10 years and never had an experience like this before. The food is usually fine and the service good. We understand it was a new chef on this occasion, but we were very surprised to have food like this from an experienced professional cook. Hopefully the management will be able to ensure the quality improves in future.

We were the only people in the restaurant, very quiet. Could of done with some background music. Staff were friendly. Food reasonably priced.

The food was outstanding, the service was very efficient with lots of smiles and friendly staff, we had a lovely time thanks to the lovely atmosphere thank you, we drove from Redcar as wanted to experience it again from a recent visit at Christmas, it didn’t disappoint
